What Honesty
I hope she keeps her word and has learned from this. And, I pray she changes her attitude to become more positive. She's so young; we've all (all of us who are way older than Osaka) had to take time to mature after getting it wrong MANY MANY MANY TIMES in our young lives. Good job Naomi!
It is so easy to sit back, as a spectator, and judge this very young lady from the other side of her tennis racket as so many people are doing in the comment section of this news article. I was expecting to see a lot of adults applauding Naomi Osaka for being so candid about her shortcomings. That's not to insinuate that she nor any athlete shouldn't have to suffer the consequences of carrying their anger too far and violate sportsmanship rules.
Speaking of being honest, if we'd be 'HONEST' with ourselves, whether we're adults or under aged, we would have to admit that we too have a history of failures that we are not proud of. Yet, how many of us have publically come forward and shared any one or more of those failures? I certainly haven't. I'd be to embarrassed to get on global news and tell everyone I've messed up. Why would I do that when I am not the only one who's made mistakes! Still, I congratulate Osaka for choosing to do so of her own accord. I find her candor refreshing and showing good character on her part. You can disagree with me, if you like, but I must ask you why since I can't understand how you could not agree with me that - honesty is the best policy.
I did read, in the comment section of this Yahoo news article, that Osaka is known for throwing temper tantrums. All I have to say about that is, "That's not good; however, let's hope that she truly is overcoming those bad attitudes and moving on to a better future!"

The Story:
aomi Osaka frankly stated she had the "worst attitude" as Lesia Tsurenko knocked her out of the Brisbane International to set up a final against Karolina Pliskova. The unseeded Tsurenko took just over an hour to reach the biggest final of her career, beating the US Open champion 6-2 6-4. Osaka thrashed the 29-year-old from Ukraine in the quarter-finals at Flushing Meadowslast year before going on to claim her first grand slam title, but the second seed was soundly beaten at Pat Rafter Arena. Osaka, who announced her withdrawal from the Sydney International next week, said: "If I'm being really frank, I just feel like I had the worst attitude today. I feel like I didn't really know how to cope with not playing well. "So, I don't know, I was sulking a little bit, and there are moments that I tried not to do that. But then the ball wouldn't go in, and then I would go back to being childish and stuff. So I think that was sort of my main problem today." Fifth seed Pliskova will be a strong favourite to regain the title she won in 2017 after dispatching Donna Vekic 6-3 6-4. The former world number one won two titles last year and could start 2019 with another, having broken twice in each set to sail through to the decider.
