GM sued by motorcyclist injured
​in crash involving self-driving car

I'm not going to create some long drawn out commentary regarding self-driven cars. As a matter of fact, I could probably say all I want to say in one short paragraph since there is already so much written on the topic.

First of all, I'm making this commentary short and sweet because there isn't a whole lot to say regarding this car. One things for sure, "Either you love it, or you hate it."

What I know and recently learned about the facts and the laws regarding automated cars:

Fact one,
There has to be a licensed driver behind the wheel at all times when the car is in motion.

Two, 
That licensed driver has to be alert and ready to intervene and take over driving if need be.

Three,
​Hands on steering wheel at all times.

What I learned...

Four,
The car is not responsible for accidents the car gets into. The person behind the steering wheel will be held liable for collisions and such; unless another driver is explicitly at fault. That's if the car doesn't get hacked or just shut off or something else disastrous like that; such incidents are mechanical, thus, the car maker is liable.

Five, 
I was referred to a website for further information on ADS (Automated Driving Systems): Go now... 

In spite of this news article that states that the motorcycle rider was sideswiped by the GM auto-car, I see no reason to get all bent out of shape and jump to a conclusion and immediately point blame towards the GM car (Bolt) because this company is entitled to its 'due process' too. I'm guessing that there is plenty of footage coming from the car's data center which would prove beyond a shadow of doubt that the car did not in fact, change lanes suddenly, without signaling, and run into the motorcyclist.

The Bolt did not complete its lane change to the left when it veered back in the original lane the motorcycle tried to pass it but was following to close to do so safely. 

Lastly, I came across a truly fascinating ADS site that shows where automation is going (no steering wheel or gas paddle) and just how fast it'll get to full automation. "Sounds Great To Me" - Let's get moving ... FASTER~~~>>> I can't wait to purchase my first automated car.
