We can see that nowadays, women empowerment is at its peak. Women all around the globe are finally speaking up about their rights and having equal standing. Women are not the inferior gender and are capable of anything that a man can do. In the past few years, a lot of development has been seen in this particular area and the idea of women having an equal standing is slowly penetrating through peoples' minds – although there is still a long road ahead.
Also, in today's culture, everything is fast-paced and work needs to be done fast and done correctly. This is true despite the worsening economy, survival is not something easy to do. Due to these reasons, a single breadwinner cannot run an entire family with ease unless they have some special financial and other extenuating circumstances. For those reasons, a lot of women step out of the house and actually WANT to work so that they have a sense of independence and don’t have to ask for money from their significant others whenever they need it.

Here’s where the problem starts, a lot of businesses nowadays have an open mind for women to work. But as soon as they start a family, the circumstances are built in such a way that they have to quit their job for a few years because they cannot handle two full-time responsibilities all at once. This is because once the maternity leave is over, women are expected never to bring their babies to work and focus completely and entirely just on their job, frankly, that is too much to ask for.

Something so wholesome and wonderful was seen in the post of Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell’s post where she shared a picture of her employee, sitting at her desk with her baby in her lap simultaneously answering the phone and working. This is what her boss has to say about it: “Workin' mamas. She makes it look easy. It helps that Baby Nora-Jo is so sweet and content just being with and near her mama. Would y'all mind sharing this? We need more small and large businesses to see this is doable and should be allowed more often! The newborn months are so short. (She has transitioned to working from home mostly but comes in when we need the extra hands. She's still breastfeeding and baby needs mama! She has many times for feeding breaks while they are in the office.) #WorkinMamas post a pic of you and your little ones while you work!”

Looking at this post we can see how this boss is embracing something which comes naturally in every women's life. No woman should be forced to make a choice between family and work, just like it isn’t mandatory for men. It actually is time where small and large businesses must all add this kind of flexibility in their systems where mothers too can work and do not have to neglect their children. Women who are committed to their work must not be deprived of their will of being independent. If this boss can do it, surely others can too. It really is time that people start realizing this flaw in the work system.
