One of the first things controversial rapper, Tekashi 6ix9ine was involved in was, somewhat, big legal trouble when he was 18 years old in 2015 before he became famous when he watched another man engaged in a sexual act with a minor aged 13 years old. Tekashi stood behind the girl hitting her on her bottom whilst he made thrusting movements with his waist as the other man had sexual intercourse with the nude child. I usually don't write commentaries on singers and actors. This singer; however, caught my attention when I kept seeing his face come across my computer screen. I had to find out more about him. The only thing is, I never found the time to start reading more about him until today when I got a notification that his charitable donation of $200.000 to help feed children was declined.
The organization, 'No Kid Hungry Foundation is the one that declined Tekashi's donation. It may not want to damage its reputation by aligning with an admitted gang member (How-be-it, he also admitted how he used the street gang named, 'Nine Trey Bloods' to get a street reputation for his music). His music videos were, and still are, raunchy, gang-infested, and sexually explosive throughout. And, Tekashi 69 does not seem nearly remorseful enough to many, so, I could imagine how this foundation feels about him. Sure he is willing to donate a one-time gift but they could lose long-term donors behind accepting his donation.
Critics of the Foundation have been known to ask questions like, "What does it matter where the money comes from to feed children? And, shouldn't it be alright for him (Tekashi 69) to give to society to show his remorse?
Maybe Tekashi is trying to do damage control to fix his overall public reputation.
On second thought, it seems to me that Tekashi 69's reputation hasn't been affected by his imprisonment whatsoever since he came out and produced another music video of the same kind of raunchy tasteless style for young people to watch and learn how he says life should be lived. Tell me again how you're remorseful for misleading your young fans??? His Youtube Video
According to CNN, in a letter to the judge filed last week, he apologized for his crimes, for joining the gang, and, for:
"misrepresenting myself [sic] to fans."
Also, the letter read, "I now know that I am remorseful for what happened because I was blessed with the gift of an opportunity that most people dream of but I squandered it by getting involved with the wrong people and misrepresenting myself when I should have been true to myself and my fans," Hernandez wrote.
Tekashi 69 turned 'State's Evidence' and received a lighter prison sentence. He told the courts who two other gang members were who helped him break the law. The judge sentenced all three for racketeering and firearm offenses. When he did that, he put his own life in danger from other gang members who are out of prison.
April 2020, Tekashi 69 was released from prison, to serve under house arrest, early due to his fear that he would contract the coronavirus because he has asthma. Upon his release, for him, it was business as usual. He began making music:
