I'm only commenting on this news article because I became shocked at all the strange comments in this Facebook comment section. I call the comments strange because most of them support the drivers who stopped their cars and picked up the money that fell out of the armored truck, with a malfunctioned door, which spilled cash onto a highway in East Rutherford, New Jersey. I think by now, you've guessed where I'm going with this. You would be correct if you think that I find their actions morally reprehensible; which I do, for two reasons.
The first reason I find stealing money that doesn't belong to them immoral is because we (US citizens) are always crying about other nation's corrupt societies. Yet, here we are taking what doesn't belong to us. The second thing about them taking that money is that it sets a bad precedent for their children who may or may not have been present while they stole others monies.
Since everyone doesn't believe in God, I won't comment about Him. I'll just mention Him for all to contemplate on just in case you do believe, but you've lost your faith temporarily when you saw all that loot! I've seen news reports like this over the years, and yes, I wondered if I'd succumb to chasing after flying cash! And, yes, I do believe that when I was in my twenties, I would have pulled my car over and jumped out to collect as much cash as I could. After all, I had a young child to provide for - "Maybe God sent it to me (us)!"
My last comment is not unlike how many (There's no way to know if the majority think this way) believe God sent that defective truck to despurse free money for the Holiday's coming up; in particularly, Christmas!
As I've matured and obtained useful knowledge about how money works and how God does help us to earn it. I learned to work for an income. Also, every now and then, I had to ask a family member or friend for financial help, but I never stole money from any of them nor the companies I worked for.
The strange thing is a ($5 dollar bill), yes, a $5-dollar-bill was left on top of the divider (my co-worker was on vacation still). It sat there for about a week. I thought nothing of it until something in my mind clicked. I and a handful of employees were the only ones left after the big downsize that took approximately 200 or 300 jobs- We had no idea why we were the last to be laid-off. You guessed it, "I think the boss put that money there to temp me into taking it so that she could fire me instead of laying me off with a severance pay." Well, Mrs. Boss, your trick didn't work, I got laid-off and severance pay for two months. Hahaha!
Those drivers crashed their cars and fought over the money. Oh yeah, many people in the comment section said they would have done the same thing or why couldn't that ever happen in their area. Some even said that it's not stealing because it's (the money) insured - in otherwards, that company simply writes it off.
