I watched this clip over and over again because I'm still in disbelief that that driver hit the bicyclist on purpose! It's so hard to fathom this person's level of inhumanity towards his fellow man. The bicyclist was trying to pass the other bicyclist; which was perfectly alright except, he didn't look behind himself first. However, that has little to do with why a person driving a machine would get so close to another person riding a bike!
The first vehicle, illegally but safely, crossed the solid yellow lines to pass and to prevent hitting the cyclists, who were in front of him and then, just as he passed them, he prevented sideswiping them once they were on his right.
The next driver came a few seconds later (judging by the GoPro cam, he had enough time so that he could clearly see the bicyclist in front of him, so he should have done exactly what the first driver did or he should have waited for the cyclist he hit to pass the other one.
Now he was arrested - Too bad, so sad...
"Get the h*ll out of the middle of the road and into the right lane, or I'll hit your a$$!" Yeap! That's the body language the hit-and-run driver had going on.
