What a 'not-so-smart' person to risk losing his income (probably his only income) by sexually assaulting a child. I bet he even has a wife and kids at home.
According to news sources, The 15-year-old told them that this so-called man took her on a the scariest-ride-of-her-life. He kept passing her street, on purpose, and then he went in an entirely different direction. Once he arrived at a secluded area, he began to try and kiss her - she resisted and he managed to kiss her on the mouth anyway.
I bet she was terrified that he was going to rape her after the stolen kiss.
For the record, if you thought like me and didn't realize how often this type of assault takes place, this guy is only one of many Uber drivers accused and/or convicted of sexually assaulting teen girls. Now, Uber has an emergency button installed within the Uber ride app just in case you are in danger:
That emergency button would not have worked for the teen in this latest incident since she was intoxicated at the time of her assault. That intoxication inhibited her mentally and physically incapable of pushing that button. She (the teen) was at work when a co-worker called an UberPool ride for her. The UberPool ride meant that she had to ride in the car with one or more other passengers who needed to be dropped off before or after herself. As it turned out, he made her the last passenger to be dropped off so that he could assault her.
No wonder there are plenty of parents who do not let their children take an Uber ride. And, how about the bar allowing people under 21-years-old to drink? Okay, so they had a fake ID, isn't the bar still liable when a child drinks alcohol? This is a whole other topic that I'll address at a later date.
As I mentioned up above, many parents won't let their children ride with Uber; for good reason. I'm wondering though if Uber could make sure that teen girls are well assisted - The caller could let Uber know on the app that a child needs the ride. Maybe that caller could ask for a female driver as well.
Sadly, there have been quite a number of teens whom an Uber driver actually raped. Read their stories in the following link, Uber-driver-accused-of-raping-teen-he-drove-home-from-bar/ or, read the one in the 'Similar Section' below:
