Duck was his name, the chimpanzee who attacked his owner's daughter. Duck lived on an animal rescue farm that housed mostly horses. This KTLA news article did not say how he came to live there. He had not attacked anyone in his family in all of 17 years. All of a sudden, he attacks the daughter and bites her, in the stomach and arms and back, sending her running for cover to the basement of her home.
Why did he wait so long to show such violent aggression? I don’t believe he hid this clearly violent behavior for almost two decades. I think he developed mental illness and didn’t remember his handlers daughter and saw her as a threat, and that’s why he attacked her.
I don’t claim to be a biologist or any such expert! I simply believe the known scientific fact that humans and chimpanzee’s share the most DNA in our genome than any other animal species. So, I put two-and-two together and got 4, meaning, “I believe that since human beings develop Dementia (A group of brain-deteriorating diseases such as Alzheimer’s, Luey-Bar Syndrome, and Parkinson’s), chimpanzees would make good candidates whom exhibit mental illnesses similar to those seen in humans.” Naturally, this is why I feel my opinion isn’t far fetched from the reality of it all!

Sadly, this isn’t the first time a family’s pet Chimpanzee has attacked it. Years ago, a woman called her friend to come and help her with her pet Chimpanzee but that turned out to be tragic for the friend whom the chimp viciously attacked and mauled.
