I hope they make this terrible teacher give back that 'Teacher of the Year Award' before she gets her last paycheck!
Some of you might think that she had some sort of break down after dealing with unruly kids. That could be what happened to her, or she she could probably just be having troubles in her personal life and decided to take it out on her students. That type of situation is called, "Displaced anger" and it is a well known behavior in the mental health profession.
When people display displaced anger, they are taking their aggressions (anger) at somebody they are angry at, out on innocent others. Sure, I understand that children, especially small children like the one in this news article, can drive you to the point of anger, but an adult must know how to channel that anger in the right direction away from children. An adult must seek counseling for help in dealing with pent up anger or depression.
I give this teacher a F- (Unsatisfactory) grade for setting a poor example to her pupils of how to handle frustration in an appropriate manner.
