Most children like to fancy themselves as smart; these teens; however, took this trend of thought to another level on the evil side of the spectrum. They thought they were so clever and concocted a plan, probably months or weeks in advance, to rob and kill someone. So when this girl appeared gullible and eager to believe their word (that they had something to sell to her), the teens had found their victim. 

They apparently watched her every move for a good deal of time. They saw that she had nice stuff such as her iPad and other items and decided they should have those items at any cost, so they'd have to kill her to get rid of any witnesses. What the teens did also reminds me that as I read this case, I believe she wasn't the only one they planned to rob and murder. I bet she was going to be the first one. Yeah, seems to me they planned a 'Robbing and Killing Spree' just like they saw done in the movies.

I bet too they were shocked to see their plan was foiled. Ultimately the plan would have failed anyway because that kind of plan was flawed from the beginning, but those two teens are not sophisticated criminals and did not know this. 

I am not blaming violent movies for these teens' behavior, no I am blaming them. They are fully responsible for their own decision to commit such a heinous crime.

I just read an article yesterday about a teen who (in a message) threatened to kill his teacher if she didn't pass the whole Physics class on an exam. Now, they're going to 'PRISON' where they will get out in three months (kidding), but they are teens and that's where the law gets complicated in cases like this one. Lucky for their victim, prosecutors want them tried as adults. Read what they had to say about these two teens below:

​According to the Washington Post writer, Ben Guarino, 

                           "[The two teen boys have been caught but] have not been named, face six charges: one count of aggravated attempted murder, a count of aggravated robbery and four counts of obstruction of justice. Prosecutors planned to try the teenagers as adults in the First District Court of Utah, under the state’s Serious Youth Offender Act. They will be arraigned in Juvenile Court on Wednesday."
