I read so many webpages and watched so many YouTube videos that said, in so many words, that the Zika Virus was fake news with overinflated fear mongering reports. Some of those debunking zika reports stated how microcephalus (shrunken head) and hydrocephalus (water on the brain) have been in America for decades.
Now I see here, in this New York Times article, that those people who posted that health professionals were lying to the world about a pandemic and that there was nothing to fear from the zika virus, I won't resume my fear of the disease, I will however, continue to educate myself on ways, as best I can, to protect myself and my family from infection should it start to spread again here in America.
Okay, so maybe there isn't a pandemic, but something drastic darn sure happened and according to this New York Times article, in that part of Brazil, it is still happening because recently new zika cases have been reported.
What is equally disturbing about the lies that there's nothing to be overly concerned about when it comes to the zika virus, is the shear number of Brazilian families affected. That number is grossly troubling at 2,500 babies born with Microcephaly (shrunken head).
All of these babies are mentally challenged and must have assistance with daily living for the rest of their lives. Some of these babies are so affected by zika that they have many birth defects such as, sleep apnea, clubbed feet, profound retardation, and more. One little angel choked every time she was feed formula, so she was given a feeding tube to help her eat. They say that she is this way because her brain isn't developed enough to send signals to her body telling her how to eat. :(
If you want to know more about these families, read the original article below:
