Here's one for us vegetarians...
We're are almost always the ones complaining about how zoo and other animal sanctuaries should release wounded or abandoned baby animals back into the wild once they're healed.
Believe me, I am all for sending wild animals like eagles, and most adult animals back where they came from in the forest or to the snow cap somewhere! That's what happens to most rescued wild animals, their wounds or illness is treated and then they're release to go home.
And, the ones who stay (even wounded adults sometimes) do so because if they're sent back into the general wildlife population, they'll die rather quickly either from being an easy target and kill of another animal or because they can no longer hunt for prey and they'll die of starvation.
God told us to take care of all animals... Zoos, most of them, I believe are doing just that. The ones which aren't taking care of animals but are abusing them, we need to rally together and make sure those zoos are closed down permanently!
By-the-way, isn't this little sweety pie baby elephant lovely!

The Pittsburgh Zoo is caring for a premature elephant that was born in early June. Her mother wasn't producing milk, so zookeepers are giving her care she needs. The team is feeding, bathing and sometimes even sleeping with the calf while watching carefully over her health. The zookeepers say she is “spunky” but has a “long road” ahead.
