I'm kind of surprised that, in the modern-day United States, polygamy still exists since it was outlawed decades ago. Personally, I don't care what people do in their private lives as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else; rightfully so, that appears to be the reason (polygamy) was made a crime.
This situation regarding polygamists isn't ever going to stop! In some cultures, it is condoned especially with child brides. There is at least one religion that believes their men will get 72 wives when they die. I am not one to argue against another's beliefs, however, if men are going to get more than one wife in the afterlife, why aren't women going to receive the same reward? Are we less than men in men's eyes? I will probably never get an answer to this question from those who believe this notion!
Let me get back on topic, the man 'Lyle Jeffs' broke the law and ran from authorities to avoid prison. If you were to ask me if I believe he deserves to go to prison for this crime, I would reply with a resounding 'Yes' if he married children. I do not know if that was the case; yet, that has been the repeating situation among this type of religious sect for hundreds of years.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Polygamous sect leader Lyle Jeffs was captured Wednesday night in South Dakota after being on the run for nearly a year after escaping from home confinement in Utah pending trial on food stamp fraud charges. The FBI announced the capture Thursday morning with a Tweet: "#ARRESTED: FLDS leader Lyle Jeffs in custody after nearly a year on the lam." FBI spokeswoman Sandra Barker confirmed the arrest and said more details would be provided later in the day. The group, known as the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, is based in a small community on the Utah-Arizona border, but it also has a small compound in far west South Dakota. Jeffs is jailed in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, said Minehaha County Jail Warden Jeff Gromer. He said Jeffs is being held for the U.S. Marshal Service.
