I remember back in the day, I spent excruciatingly painful (I'd get headaches) and aggravating hours researching material for Essays and Research Papers. I'm so glad that those times are far behind me. For an English class in college, I shudder right now remembering how I spent more than half a day studying in my bathroom so I wouldn't be disturbed. "How humiliating!" At least, "It didn't stink in there!" You know what? I still earned a 'B- grade' in that class because I was so exhausted, I turned in three assignments late... Ugh!
I digress,
I am new to the world of AI chatbots such as ChatGPT. The first time I heard about AI was about two-weeks ago when my daughter asked me if I heard about it. I said, 'No' and dismissed the topic. I thought, "Why do I need to use AI to write business copy or blog post?" The writing bots will be useless to me.
Skip to two weeks later...
I decided, about 2 days ago, to revisit ChatGPT. I found out more about its features and liked what I saw. But then, those old feelings came back again reminding me of school anti-plagiarism rules. Yes, I know that AI writing bots are using original writings, but the whole idea of having someone (ghost writers included) or something to write for me didn't set well with me.

The Ai system is rather simple to use. It's funny though, I was so afraid of it that I got frustrated with the bot when I typed in Social Media Statistics and it queried information from 2021! I started to leave the site right then and there. I pondered the site for a few more minutes and changed my mind about leaving. I remembered how my daughter said she used ChatGPT and did the same thing.
I keyed in the words, "Write a blog post on the positive affects of Social Media on relationships in the United States. But, I didn't screenshot it." But then, I asked a similar question and screenshotted the answer:

As you can see in the print screen image above this sentence, ChatGPT queried the internet for information to answer my question and came up with six paragraphs of information that filled a blog post. I was and still am satisfied with this tool.
Naggingly, still, were thoughts I was having about plagiarism and children who engage in this activity. I thought, "Parish the thought of hearing how my 2 year old grandson had been caught plagiarizing his 6th Grade Essay!" Then Walla! I saw this Mastodon post... The author is against this AI written detector for schools because it isn't 100% accurate in its output. See the link below:
I think this tool will help teachers since they know their student's work! And, most of the time, they are suspicious of 'A grade work' coming from a typical 'C grade' student!
