People across this country (US) are speaking out, on the net and on the news, either in support of or opposition to illegal immigration here in the United States. Those who oppose illegal immigration are the ones that I've taken notice of the most because they've inundated so many comment sections in online news threads filling up those threads with angry words of disapproval. Illegal immigration opponents have stated that they feel everyone who wasn't born in the US should be sent back to his or her country of origin. I read about five comments from people who are naturalized citizens who are outraged that people crossing the US border illegally expect to stay when they had to go through all the red-tape to be able to become American citizens.
Out of all the opponents complaining about immigrants, I respect the opinions of naturalized citizens! After all, they've gone through the lengthy process to become citizens. However, I have some beef with those people too! Why you may ask? I am not one hundred percent sure, but I kind of sense that many of them had the financial means to pay the huge fees required for Naturalization. That aside; however, they still had to study US History and take difficult test and fill out application after application and be vetted for citizenship. Unlike illegals who simply cross over the border and stay-
BUT!!!! I have so many wonderful friends from Mexico and other places around the world (many are here in the US illegally) but have been here for decades. Why is it too much to ask the government to allow them to stay here since they've been here for so long??? Why would we say that we believe in a country where everyone is welcome but then kick out people who are abiding by our laws and living peacefully?
Secondly, "Why are we making adults leave here when they were just babies when they were brought here!" "I know, I know, it's taboo for me to side with non-Americans, 'Excuse me for having a caring heart!' But I don't think sending people to a country they know nothing, or little, about would be (or is) treating them humanely! Period!"
Lastly, "Sixty of the workers (from 5 states) who attended the "A Day Without Immigrants" protest were fired! That's really sad! Yet, I don't feel sorry for 12 of them for being fired because they were no call - no show for work that day! The other 48 people were fired under their employers' hiring contract agreement called 'at-will employment' (Most states have this - some though, are not as strict) which means employers can fire employees at any time they please and they can do so for any reason. So you know now how our over-all moral attitude works in business!
