The Prince George County School District must pay Tierra Holland $100,000 for the lawsuit she took to court stemming from the the beating her young 9-year-old daughter 'Saraia Collins' received while riding home on a school bus from Highland Park Elementary School.

I couldn't wait to read why a judge would award such a large sum to this mom when a 2nd grader was the one who beat her 4th grader Saraia up! To my surprise, that's exactly what the 2nd grader did. She started picking a fight with Saraia and would not stop no matter how many times the girl told her that she wasn't going to fight her.

The verbal assault went on until the bus driver intervened the first few times. The last time the 2nd grader started verbally assaulting Saraia, the bus driver did nothing and simply allowed the girl to be pummeled to the point that she got a concussion and was left with (PTSD), says Bui. 

If I were that bus driver, I would have called the police to come and, not-so-much to arrest the bullying child, insist that she stop harassing the other child. And, they would hopefully they would let her know that if she didn't stop harassing her, they'd be forced to arrest her for assault. That threat from the police would extend out to the boy too who seen on the kid's cellphone video footage verbally assaulting and Saraia and egging the bully on.

Wow! This case is amazingly bizarre, so are all the other bullying cases that people are talking about in the comment section of this Washington Post news article (via Yahoo news) written by reporter Lynh Bui. There are so many of these bullying cases, the schools are or have been too quick to wash their hands of any responsibility. Well, Highland Park Elementary has been made an example of what schools are not to do; or should I say, "Must do" when it comes to making sure bus drivers know that they are hired adults and thus, they are responsible for the safety and wellbeing of all the children on their bus. Period!

P.S., Saraia's mother said the school did not even bother apologizing or disciplining the minors involved in her daughter's attack, so this is why she sued it!
