I don't know about you, but I never heard of a ship leaning to its side and still be able to stay afloat. When I think of a ship doing this, I think of capsizing; as I imagine most, if not all, of the passengers were thinking the same way at the time. 

With dishes flying off the tables and store items flying at people, I would think that there was shear pandemonium along with people getting violently ill out of fright - that would have been my case for sure. I'm almost one hundred percent sure asthma inhalers were in full operation that day. 

Then, the ships captain and crew usessly tried to calm their passengers to no avail; who could blame them for not trusting a word the staff said! After all, the passengers had the 'Sinking of the Titanic' on their minds (All of them). I imagine they did somewhat calm down once they fully grasped the knowledge of what really caused the ship to tilt on its side, which was a malfunction in the ship's stabilizing mechanisms. This malfunction was reversed and all was well again. However, that incident was enough to curtail the trip for on the cruise. ​
