'I would never go near a Botox party again': Woman's warning after lip injections go horribly wrong

It seems as if cosmetic surgery is the new norm for Americans both male and female and other. In deed, it vanity has become our 'Right-to-passage'. All one thinks about before getting cosmetic surgery is how much attention so-and-so gets with her fuller lips or bigger bottom, etc. Is there any wonder why mostly women are drawn to such risky measures? 

I'm not sure if Botox injections, which this young woman named, 'Rachael Knappier' had injected into her forehead and lips, are considered a real surgery; however, because they (recipients of this injection) are not being operated or cut on. With this knowledge, one would think one's mind could be at ease then. Not so fast, as this young lady in this story said, 

“I would never go near a Botox party again. I’m cross that I didn’t do my research and just assumed that everyone who injects Botox and fillers has been to medical school..." 

​After the injection, her lips swole up and her top lip began to crack open from the pressure. Initially she was told that she had had an allergic reaction to the injection. Sadly, that was not the case. So, what did happen? According to Yahoo writer, Elizabeth Di Filippo, The beautician injected filler into Knappier's forehead and lips, but somehow the filler made it into an artery and started to set up necroses (death of the surrounding tissues).


I, like most women, find so many things on my person that I'd like to get augmented - Lolssss - But, I always chicken out about actually letting someone cut on me. Instead of taking such drastic measures, I've succumb to living with what God gave me to work with; it's much safer, especially after reading all of the horror stories surrounding body augmentation.

There are so many names for these types of procedures. Let's see, those are: 

*Cosmetic surgery
*Body augmentation
*Plastic surgery
*Liposuction 
​*Botox injections

Surprise! I am not trying to discourage you from having one of those treatments or surgeries done, I am only trying to get you to do your research first. Besides, some of us really need some type of help to fix what nature or car accidents, etc., have destroyed. 

Lastly, Knappier, like she hinted at, is lucky she did not die from this incident. Unfortunately for another young woman who had a nose job done in Mexico, she was not so fortunate. You can read her sad story below in the 'Similar Story' section.
