While it may seem as if I am writing about the sady's death has emotionally affected him. After all, he was almost killed too.
Canyon was out having fun wondering near the border of his family's property with his best friend Casey a golden lab when they came upon what he thought was a water sprinkler head. Curiosity got the best of him, so reached down to touch it. All of a sudden, it exploded, knocked him to the ground, and spewed out an orange power over him and his dog.
When he went to see if Casey was all right, he found that he was foaming at the mouth and shaking.
Casey died minutes later. What the object was a trap filled with cyanide to kill coyote that the federal government left in that spot as well as others throughout the area.
I glad that Canyon's parents are trying to stop this from happening to another family.
