And so we find out the reason why an American, I assume the Brits could tell by this man's accent that he wasn't British or that he has lived in America a long time. The ones who called authorities reported him as lost and unidentified.

However, that was far from the truth as you will soon find out. Besides the fact that he told the police his real name, he wasn't lost, he was abandoned in another country. You read that correctly! His family went on vacation in England from California and flat-out left him there and flew back home.

I know, it sounds unbelievable that someone would leave their loved one, who has Dementia, so far away from home and them. But, that's exactly what they did. According to this Washington Post article, they plotted to abandon him but no one seems to take responsibility for the elderly gentleman. 

It gets worse, investigators found Mr. Curry's wife and son. They also found out that they were the ones who left him in England while they went to have fun, sources said. The article went on to describe the history of the non-amicable relationship between the father and son. Their relationship was strained for years according to their long-time neighbors - Some said they felt sorry for Mr. Curry and his wife.

I do know a little about people with Dementia (Describes a set of symptoms and is not the disease - Alzheimer's is one form of Dementia). With some of these diseases of mental decline, the patient's whole personality changes and before some became ill, they were much more aggressive - afterwards they remain more dossel and vice versa.

Still, even if this man has Dementia and was too difficult to handle for his wife and son, there is help out there; especially for people who have the ability to pay for the help, which Mr. Curry has according to the author of this WP article.

I sure hope they (I am not sure how I feel about Mr. Curry's wife- she's supposedly ill too) get the maximum jail time they deserve for this crime.
