Everybody knows that crime is serious business; especially for victims of it and the police who bring those criminals to jail and/or prison. There are; however, those rare moments in time, when a funny situation involving a criminal is the opposite of serious. Meaning, "They're quite hilariously funny." That's right, I enjoyed a good chuckle while reading this would be criminals shenanigans.
Now that I think about it, I believe we enjoy stories like this one because no one got hurt; as far as I know because the police nor the man named, 'Anthony' promising the police he'd turn himself in, said what crime he committed. I'd think the police would respond to the man's promises to turn himself in would have been way more stern and rushed to justice had the man been a threat to society.
It seemed to me that that Anthony was playing 'cat and mouse' with the police department. Or, was he really planning to go in but simply bailed every time he got close to the police station. Who knows!
As I was reading, yes, I thought Anthony had reached a final decision to not turn himself in. But then to my surprise, he goes and presents himself to the police - at last. And the way he does it is priceless and unforgettable. I bet the police wish every criminal would simply comply and turn themselves into the police.

The police department got stood up and, by Monday, they were feeling a little needy.
“Dear Anthony, is it us?” they wrote on Facebook. “Last Wednesday we reached out to you as ‘Wanted.’ You replied and even said you were going to turn yourself in. We waited, but you didn’t show. After you stood us up, we reached out again—this time offering you a ride. You replied and said you needed 48 hours. The weekend came and went. We are beginning to think you are not coming. Please call us anytime and we will come to you.”
