The world has lost another little earthy angel. His name is Ryu Pena and he was happily playing by himself in the Thrift store as his grandmother tried on clothes. Then, something went unimaginably wrong. Ryu took an unused stool from another changing room stall and stood up on it [he probably lost his balance] and wound up getting his hoody caught on a hook and couldn't reach the floor. Consequently, he suffocated to death from lack of oxygen.

Such a tragic unforeseeable tragedy. But one, because of news coverage, that is hopefully going to stop it from happening again. Four-year-olds are toddlers, in essence, they are still babies. They pretend they are Superheros and jump off tables and chairs. I am not saying that that is what this little one did! However, I wouldn't put it past any toddler; especially males. 

I happen to know first hand about this since my 3 1/2-year-old thought she was a Spidergirl and tied a curtain rope around her neck, stood on our sofa, and then jumped off! Talk about being frightened out of your mind as a mother (or father), I was in a state of panic. She was fine, except for rope burns on her neck that I explained right away to her Headstart teachers just as we walked into the door of her school. I was concerned that they would think I tried to choke her or something. They shrugged off my explanation and said as long as she's okay! My guess is, 'They've heard it done before!'
