Enoch City, Utah: Michael Haight shoots entire family and then himself to death after his wife tells him she wants a divorce, according to Fox 32 news. Haight shot and killed his wife, her mother, and his and his wife's 5 children. I wonder at approximately what rate this type of whole family annihilation from within occurs in the United States? Maybe I'll go look it up before I finish writing this commentary!
Most of the time, you won't find out if a person is capable of this level of violence because that person is passive aggressive and hides it from everyone except his or her immediate family members. That's why I ask questions about certain people at places I frequent such as church. For example, recently, I asked about a rather troubled young man. I don't know why the many church shootings, that occurred over the years, come to my mind when he's at church or someone is talking about his odd behavior, but I can only make suggestions to one of his mentors as to what I (as a grand mother) think the young man needs. What do people think we can do about potential shooters? I asked his one mentor if he (the young man) was violent? He said, "No!" I thought, neither were many a shooter as far as those who knew them goes!
