The perpetrator in this story (Leevon Smith) brings the old adage "Stupid is as stupid does!" back in style after he tried to take a gun from a person!

Her execution was flawless! Except that she turned her back to the perp! That was her only mistake, but it nearly cost her her life!

This police officer involved shooting took place in Chicago, Illinois after a would be thief tried to rob an off-duty officer. Sources say he waited for what he thought would be the right moment to grab for the officer’s gun but what he caught was far from what he thought was going to happen in this scene and how it would play out. After she struggled with the man and regained full control of her gun, “Bang, she shot him!” She was heard shouting the following, “I told your dumb— I’d shoot you,” “You tried to steal my f—ing gun. I don’t give no f— about him. He just tried to rob me,” according to NBC 5 News.

​The way I understood what this officer did was protect herself from getting shot and killed by a seriously deranged person. However, now, his family is suing, according to this one source: “Smith's family is suing the officer and the city for $10 million, claiming that Smith's estate has been "diminished" because of funeral expenses. The lawsuit claims that his family "suffered injuries as a result of his death, including, but not limited to, the loss of companionship and society, grief, sorrow and mental anguish," Okay! Why???

Remember what I said about that old adage at the beginning of this commentary? You do? Apply it to Smith’s entire family! I get it, they’re grieving, but how am I supposed to think of people who want to take millions of dollars from innocent people because of what their loved one did wrong? Explain Lucy?

Don’t forget to check out the video where an off-duty officer shot and killed to suspects thieves. The video starts off with the perps backing away but then they had to drive forward, passing the officer and almost hit him at the closest point to him (That my friend is using a car as a deadly weapon - even if one didn't intentionally do so, because the law doesn't require intent when a person is fleeing the police and drives over them or almost hit them!)!
