Every now and then, I come across a really helpful YouTube video where I'm presented with tools that seem that they'd make my life a lot easier. This is one of those helpful video. I especially like the video about the car door scam.
Scammers are after easy money. This video discusses several scams computer hackers use to get that money. I will write about one of those internet scams today.
Hackers download malware (it's spyware that hackers use to gain access to private computer information such as your bank account) or ransomware (it's when computer hackers send malware to a company's email or other media - when someone opens the infected email message or downloaded file, that person has given hackers access to, and allowed them to seize control of, private data; and they'll only release control of that data when the company pays a ransom via bitcoin (online untraceable currency).
I think we can all relate to opening emails that contained a virus! Or, we've visited an iffy website that came with a virus or malware that took over our computers. Yeah, the 'terrible old days' that we try to forget! We want to forget the times, we spent hours and hundreds of dollars to repair our 'blue screened' computers. Ugh! You'd think we've learned our lessons and refuse to click on that company email from goodness-knows-who! But, we haven't, and that's why we had hundreds of countries across the world succumb to the latest ransomware attack just this very month (May 2017).
Heads up though! Be sure to watch the whole video because boy does it have some Facebook scam surprises for you...
