I've known about the fake rice for a few months now (this is April 2017). The funny thing about that is that China isn't where I heard this evil trend is being carried out! I watched a video of plastic rice being imported from China and sold in Africa. That figures, feed the already striving to survive countries in Africa fake rice.
The FDA here in the US has strict laws governing foods manufacturers can make for human consumption. Yet, the FDA doesn't seem to be worried at all about Chinese food products such as the ones discussed in this video such as 'Apple Juice'. Oh boy do we love our apple juice! Maybe I should see exactly which of these popular brands are imported to this country. FYI, my favorite apple juice is Motts because it taste great - especially when it's cold. Hmmm! BRB.
I'm back, and what I found is shocking and reminiscent of what I remember but long forgot about until now:
There were reports a few years back (Dr. Oz reported his findings on apple juice in 2011) about arsenic being in certain brands of apple juice her in the US. I just looked up that information and found out that several brands were tested for arsenic; and apparently other things, because researchers also found that out of all the apple juice brands they tested, MOTTS (Yikes!!!) was the only brand, it's from China, that had not only high levels of arsenic, it had other troubling contaminants in it i.e., pesticides and other metals.

The Rochester-based Empire State Consumer Project arranged for laboratory analysis of five brands each of apple juice and apple sauce, including Wegmans brands.
No arsenic was detected in any of the samples except for Mott’s juice — but it contained more than five times the level of arsenic allowed in drinking water.
Judy Braiman, head of the consumer project, said Mott’s, like some other juice makers, uses apple concentrate from China in its products. Arsenic-based pesticides, no longer applied to apples in this country, are still used in Chinese orchards, she said, and the toxic metal can find its way into apple products.
The US also imports one of my other favorite foods 'Garlic'; :( there are harmful chemicals in that garlic coming from China. North Americans use lots and lots of fresh garlic in recipes quite frequently!!!! Man, this turns my stomach.
Although some of these reports from laboratory test on food products are from 2011 - 2014, I find that most 3rd world countries and even whole continents are still using questionable methods in their exported food supply productions.
The original 2017 YouTube video is no longer available. No worries, I found another similar video from 2017. In addition, I came across yet more videos from 2022. I will provide an update on this page. Find the 2017 video replacement below:

UPDATE: 2022
Reminder: The original video that I posted on the commentary is no longer available, but its replacement video is worth watching despite the YouTuber's statements about plastic in rice coming from China.
Dr. Oz hosted the following YouTube video which I posted a link to on this page below. In the video he speaks with experts and does his own experiment using store-bought rice (I do not know if it is from China or the United States). The results were that there was no plastic in any rice products sold in the US.
As for the other products sold here in N. America but originating from China, products such as Tilapia raised in fish-farms,
Part 2 regarding food from China he tells us that even in 2022 China is still selling Tilapia which has been feed feces from pigs and livestock. There was no longer talk about plastic rice! Is that because there was never a case of this happening anywhere!
