It is easy for one to lose count of how many times one hears in the news about yet another mistaken house that police have used a battery ramp to break into and destroy. 

Many police departments have issued apologies to the families whom they've victimized by mistake; too many, this action is too little and too late! After all, an apology isn't going to pay for all the damage the officers caused during their raid. 

And, in more profoundly serious cases like this family experienced, an apology is abundantly insufficient. I recently watched one such case via a YouTube video news story that will stay on my mind for a long time. A couple's neighbor calls the police after hearing a woman scream for help - the couple's neighbor gave 911 her best estimate of where the sound of the woman screaming came from. But she was wrong...
