This is an embarrassment for our state officials, whether they feel embarrassed or not! They should have come up with a budget to make sure that this homeless shelter had enough money to stay open! But no, "Those poor souls will be out in the bitter cold that's hit the Midwest recently, and that cold plan's to stick around for a while according to several meteorologists!

Why shouldn't I feel sorry for people who may die from exposure to the frigid elements happening even as I type this commentary? We're human beings and they are as well, and that's why we must take care of those who can't take care of themselves! Shame on us if we just say, "There are just homeless people, if they die from hyperthermia, so what!"

Of course, they can be put in other homeless shelters but most shelters are filled to capacity at this time of year! So, the only places those kicked out of homeless shelters have to go to live are the streets - many will go to live in tent cities under viaducts.

The city of Chicago doesn't want people living under viaducts, so, in the past, it sent out authorities to pick them up and take them to places like Pacific Garden Missions - An overcrowded Christian Mission where people are herded together like animals in one room for the whole day (They're thieves, criminals, and drug attacks mixed with those who are just down on their luck)!​
