Well, are you going to pick that steak up off your kitchen floor or not? Hahaha!
I'm thoroughly confused now about which rule is thee actual rule! I've used the 3 Second Rule for so long that I never took into consideration that there might be other forms of this 'Old Wives Tale' out in the world; with exception of the 5 Second Rule - I did know about this rule!
As a matter of fact, many many years before I became vegetarian, you better believe whenever I had dropped a steak on my kitchen floor, I picked it up and gave it a thorough washing in the sink. Don't look at me like that! "Do you know how much steaks cost (the cost of food was most important even many many years ago too)?"
Unfortunately or fortunately, I didn't stop using the, "3 Second Rule" that I had established as my favorite "I-dropped-food-that-I want-really-badly-on-the-floor-rule," until I met a cute guy who watched me in action and became turned off by what he described as 'Unsanitary'! I was so very embarrassed that I vowed from that moment on that I'd never use that rule or any similar rule ever again. And, I never did!
So as you can see, I am still not so sure that it's all that horrible to pick up some grocery item off the floor and wash, cook, and the eat it! Please, tell me, do you use any of these rules? I am not going to judge you on whether you do or don't use one of these rules! I promise \(*.*)7
