I have some sad news to tell you all. Another young person lost their life by doing something that could have been prevented! 

So, yes, I guess you can take my commentary today as a warning! Spreading it around to share and warn others. Or don't! After all, some of you feel like this is natural selection and this college student met her own fate. I beg to differ with you. 

You know, Lincoln is known for the following saying, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." Try and remember this young lady's tragic story and this quote the next time you or someone you know gets an inkling to have a food eating contest; especially a hotdog eating contest!

I think I get why they used pancakes for this contest versus hotdogs, it's because pancakes are soft and mushy and easy to swallow, but, whether pancakes or cotton candy, soft foods can still wind up blocking your windpipe cause you to choke to death.

If you insist on having food eating contest, please use precautionary measures. Whatever those may be! I have no idea! You'll have to google the question for an answer.
