Since 12 people were shot, I'm going to go ahead and call this a 'mass shooting'! I included the definition of the words 'mass shootings' in the following quote to help put things into perspective (The definition does read that mass shooters shot indiscriminately, but, it didn't specify weather he/she knew the people shot at or not - I believe this Austin shooter knows or knows of the people he or she shot at - I don't feel that should disqualify this shooting as a mass shooting!):​

Texas has had 4 of the Top Ten Mass Shootings according to CNN. However, I found this information via a Twitter user whom I've embeded her tweet in the 'More Information' section below:​

Mass shootings are the norm everywhere now, and we'll never rid ourselves of them.

There's a continuous political battle where some US citizens want more gun control and others want none. Please don't ask me where I stand on the matter because this commentary isn't going to focus on gun control (It is an endless debate). 

I will say this though, criminals are running amuck - them and their unregistered guns running around shooting the innocent. I am especially angry about children who've been caught in the cross-fires and shot and killed over the decades. No matter what you think, you'll never convince me that this will stop. No sir, little ones will continue to be murdered as politicians keep fighting over gun laws.

​Maybe the penalty for shooting someone with an unregistered weapon should be higher! But, then there's that sticky situation where one person simply defended himself from another person who was shooting at him. I saw a situation like this on the television show, '48 hours' - They didn't charge the youth for killing the other youth who attacked him even though the gun he used to kill the attacker with was unregistered to him. I thought for sure they were going to book him for that.

Do you think the teen, who was defending himself, who shot another teen to death should have gone to prison for murder since the gun he used to kill him was illegal? Let us know like and share this commentary:
